A truthful definition.

What is disinformation?
disinformation (noun)
A category of information — often true facts — that the Regime opposes and wishes to censor / pillory, nullifying its credibility in the process.  The main purpose of using the term is to transform honest, spontaneous communication into a suspicious activity fraught with personal danger for the participants.

Example:

— "Did you read about Hunter's laptop?  So much crime is revealed in the e-mails therein"

— "Haha, that's Russian disinformation."
