Burnin’ R and RevvedUp themes now on 1.5.0

Guess what? I’ve got news for you WordPress theme freaks! The dramatically-improved RevvedUp and Burnin’ R themes for WordPress, version 1.5.0 is now available for download. They both preserve their aesthetics, but they have taken a big, big step forward in configurability and user-friendliness, with Widgets!

Okay, among the many changes, we can count the following:

  • All sidebar tiles have been ‘widgetized’ for usage with the latest and (in my opinion, greatest - evar) plugin for WordPress: Widgets! For you, this means that every single tile can be relocated via the Presentation tab of the WordPress administrative interface, no coding needed. Of course, you need to have the Widgets plugin installed for this (by the way, the latest edition of Supercharged WordPress comes with Widgets preinstalled). By the way, the Widgets plugin is not a requirement for this theme: you can just roll with this update even if you can’t or won’t install the Widgets plugin.
  • Slots for sidebar ads have been removed now. Why? Because the Widgets plugin and its generic text slots fill the need pretty well. If you’re going to upgrade to this version of the theme, I suggest that you back up the sidebar and referral ad code (if you have set any) before upgrading.

So, whatcha waiting for? To buy the Burnin’ R theme (it’s just ten bucks, dude), visit its download page. If you prefer to download a completely Free (as in Freedom) theme, RevvedUp is also there.

RevvedUp now at 1.4.8, and Burnin’ R at 1.0.9

Small point releases for the two already known (and heavily downloaded) themes.

  • Integrated Gallery2 into sidebar
  • Added styles for Gallery2 in style.css
  • Fixed a JavaScript bug which posed problems for Lightbox JS plugin users
  • Integrated improvements for the custom In-Series plugin in Supercharged WordPress
  • Integrated version 2.4 of the LMB^Box comment quicktags plugin

That’s it. Get them while they’re hot.

New versions of RevvedUp and Burnin’ R

This joint announcement has the pleasure to inform you that both RevvedUp (now at version 1.4.6) and Burnin’ R (now at version 1.0.7) have new improvements, and this is a joint announcement basically because both themes have improved in the same ways.

To begin with, both themes have gained two new ad slots for each sidebar, above the fold. Each sidebar has a new ad space which, if enabled, will show ads right at the top of the chosen sidebar.

In addition to that, the famous In Series and Countdown plugins have been added as well. As if that weren’t enough, the AdSense Logger, the newest Related posts and the Content negotiation plugin have been tested and work just fine.

Both new versions of the themes fix a bug in the footer which could cause invalid HTML under certain conditions (basically, when URLs contain ampersands).

Both themes have a fixed shoutbox size now, to avoid the problem of long lines messing up the layout.

Finally, a bug was fixed in both themes which could lead to bad rendering when WordPress serves pages with the right XHTML content type.

That’s it for today. Get your copies now, while they’re still hot! Or, if you want to get them in one fell swoop, with all the plugins, try Supercharged WordPress.

RevvedUp 1.4.1 is out

Minor bug fixes for this theme make it even tighter:

  • Fixed a problem with the theme toolkit which impacted the theme admin configuration WordPress administrative screen; it ate HTML entities for dessert. The patch has been submitted to the theme toolkit author as well.
  • Made the comment entry textarea on comment popups 2% narrower so IE won’t show a horizontal scrollbar.

Go get it now!
