Dianetics is a 200-page bald-faced lie, and Amazon conspires with it
Not weeks into the worldwide protests against Scientology by anon and other popular Internet groups and sites such as Reddit, this happens:
Do you know why the book has a four-and-a-half-stars rating? Because a few days ago, Redditors reviewed the book, unanimously and deservingly giving it the finger. Not surprisingly, Amazon decided to “review the reviews”.
If you take an online poll, open to anyone, and you delete the opinions of those who disagree with you, that’s called corruption. The four and a half stars are a lie. It doesn’t take a genius to see that the only possible explanation for this act is conspiracy — a conspiracy against the truth.
Oh, I am not just echoing a sectarian voice here. I did read the book — my parents got it a few years ago — and it is, categorically, a steaming turd. Believing Dianetics work is perhaps even harder than believing in astrology — you would need some serious brainwashing before even starting to consider the wild “assertions” the book tries to sell you.
Honestly, I initially doubted that an article about Scientology could be tagged religion, so I hesitated when tagging this article. But, what the heck, at least they claim it to be.
So, fine, have it their way. When good people stand idle in the face of injustice, evil people get their way. It was about time good people did something. I salute anon for the efforts they’re putting into destroying this evil, lying and scheming organization. Go anon, go Reddit!

La primera vez que yo he escuché una conferencia sobre Dianética, hace ya algunos años, la verdad es que me pareció algo bastante fascinante y fashion. No era algo comparable con creer en la astrología, definitivamente; era más algo así como una forma de psicoterapia alternativa. En los videos introductorios y los seminarios, al principio nunca te presentan una cuadro realmente bizarrete; revolucionario, mágico y diferente tal vez, pero no tanto así como algo del otro mundo; de hecho, creo que la mayoría de dianetistas no tienen ni idea de la historia de Xenu y los alienígenas (luego, cuando me enteré que lo de los extraterrestres y Xenu era el tema estrella sobre Cienciología en la Internet, me sorprendí de lo ignorantes que los propios adeptos son sobre su propia religión).
Nunca leí el libro completo, solamente partes; pero sí recuerdo que contenía aserciones desenfrenadas, mas en aquel entonces no lo vi como algo muy extraño (tal vez porque era muy joven y ya me había comido el cuento). Tenía unas explicaciones metáforicas deliberadamente intrigantes y bastante curiosas, y el tipo vociferaba declaraciones del tipo: “¡Esto es un descubrimeinto tan real como la gravedad!”: así sin más. Ahora, pues ahora que sé un cerro de cosas que antes no sabía, aparte de que me he alejado tanto de la mentalidad New Age (a pesar de que he pasado y paso rodeado de gente así), sí me da algo de gracia y asombro todo eso. Imaginaros.
