Yes, the hard buttons on the Palm can now be disabled while playing Pocket Tunes music

Well, well, well, it seems I solved my Pocket Tunes hard buttons problem.

After four hours of exhaustive Googling, I found and downloaded a small Palm utility called Hold on, to disable the 5-way navigation buttons on the Palm. When I run it, two giant buttons appear onscreen: HOLD, and Pocket Tunes.

  • Press Hold, and the 5-way navigation buttons are blocked. Thus, it’s safe to put the device in your pants’ pockets. Of course, the Power button still blanks the screen (if the related Pocket Tunes option is checked) so you save a whole lotta battery power.
  • Press Pocket Tunes and you’ll go to Pocket tunes.

It appears to run in all modern Palm-based devices.

Props to the mad coderz behind this!

Hiya! Got your message and installed it.

I have to go back to pTunes before I press the power button, otherwise my music stops. Funny. But it works anyway. Thanks!

I will also take a look at the hard casings for Palm TX when I have the chance.

You need to activate the option to Turn off the screen with the Power Button in pTunes for the Power Button to blank the screen (as opposed to turning off the Palm) when in Hold On.
